Cricket Magazine Assigment

Happy to be working on another assignment for Cricket Magazine. Four illustrations depicting the Ainu (Japan's indigenous peoples) folktale of Resak and The Bear. Will post sketches and paintings in a couple of weeks.

A New Year

It has been a difficult year. My mother passed away at the end of February and the months prior to her death were filled with she and I coming to terms with her terminal cancer. Thank you everyone for visiting my blog and websites and your continuing support of my work. I plan on updating all my sites as soon as I can. Peace - Liz

Wolf Song: Cover In Progress

After many iterations I like the way this image is progressing. Now I need to make it work for the final size and add in the back of the cover.

Wolf Song: Wolf On The Path

This is a sample of one of the pages without copy from Wolf Song: Wolf On The Path double page spread. The original the image looked too static so I tried to make it more dynamic and show how the villagers think of the wolf in their minds - a hulking killer instead of a lonely, broken beast.

Wolf Song Rough Color Sketches

I am trying out some color sketches for Wolf Song. Good to be making some progress! This is just exploration work but I like the textures and moodiness I am getting from the acrylics and all sorts of mixed media.
